A number of classes and recreational activities take place at the Boathouse, including a Spanish for toddlers class and Camp Lakeside (a program for kids in the summer months). A man-made lake with paddleboats broadens the summertime activities.

More activities (and shopping) abound just three quick miles away on Jefferson Blvd. The West Sacramento Recreation Center offers a myriad of yoga, Zumba, bootcamp, cardio, and toning classes. There’s also cardio and circuit training equipment, but the family fun comes in the form of a climbing wall, pool with waterslide and special events like the Soggy Doggy Swim Day for pooches that like to work out.

The center is adjacent to River City High and just down the street is Southport Shopping Center with Target, grocery stores, coffee shops, and restaurants.
